I am a qualified professional photographer, and I was very lucky to have served a proper six-year apprenticeship, with part time day release, at a photographic department to a printers and publishers. The first two years I attended Brighton Polytechnic (University of Brighton) and gained my City and Guilds certificate, this enabled me to attend the Polytechnic of Central London (University of Westminster) for a further four years gaining my PCL diploma in professional photography. Having passed all my exams I was able to apply for associateship of the BIPP and MPA.
After qualifying I worked in London for about a year gaining valuable experience at 2 large studios specialising in catalogue photography.
Returning to Burgess Hill and starting Paul Noble Photographic in Feb 1982,
and still trading successfully despite all the 'help' from various governments over the years.
I feel that I am at the peak of my career (how long will this last ?)
with over 35 years as a full time working photographer, and 30 years as a qualified professional, (at 50+ I am very fit and still have all my own teeth).
Also I am completely up to date and beyond on all aspects of digital imaging,
having been one of the first to start using digital imaging methods in 1996/7.
I never stop learning and would love to study for an MA in Digital Media
but would probably have to take a year off to achieve this, so sometime in 2037 then. www.pnoblephoto.net
